GARS Guardian 4.0 is a native iOS application that allows data collection from the field users with custom reports. It provides real-time data transfer into the system cloud, allowing supervisors and administrators to analyze the data via GARS Connect.

The Guardian 4.0 application records user input and transfers report data through a secure connection to the central databases, where the data are prepared and formatted. When the system receives the report data, a series of emails are generated and sent to the specified list of users. The report data is also immediately formatted and available in Connect, the GARS web-based user interface for permitted users to review.
The data generally includes GEO data available to indicate the origin of the reported event, the source, the user, user identification, report data itself, and images and videos (multimedia). The app can also transfer iOS compatible files between users and includes a messenger feature for user communication.
